Within a few months of moving to Waterford Place, Dawn’s outlook dramatically improved. She went from a wheelchair to a rollator, from isolation to a social butterfly, and from feeling hopeless to looking forward to her next delicious meal (and dessert!) on the menu.
Dawn was in a skilled nursing facility before moving to Waterford Place. “I couldn’t walk, and I was really sick,” she recalls. Dawn was ready to give up on the opportunity to achieve her dream of a happy, fulfilled life, but that quickly changed.
“It felt like heaven moving here,” Dawn says of relocating to Waterford Place’s assisted living and memory care community. “It is so beautiful, and everyone is so welcoming.”
A real-life example of why Waterford Place is designated among Wisconsin’s very best senior care providers!
Thanks to the support of her family, Waterford Place’s team, and on-site physical therapists, Dawn accomplished an amazing transformation—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
“I became a lot more relaxed because they helped me regain my strength and independence,” says Dawn, who graduated from using a wheelchair to a walker full-time after only a few short months.
Dawn blossomed socially as well.
“Dawn went from a social recluse to greatly contributing to monthly activity programming, even starting her own card club and building strong friendships!” says Josie Garwood, Waterford Place’s Director of Sales and Marketing.
Waterford Place feels “like home.” Dawn’s private apartment comfortably holds all her prized possessions. “My room is the perfect size, not too big for me to get lost in, but fits everything that I need and want,” she says.
When Dawn wants to venture out, a variety of activities to choose from happen right outside her door.
“Waterford Place’s staff is exceptional, and the activity team knows how to have FUN,” according to Dawn. “We have some awesome parties here with snacks and drinks.” Adding, “I like the food, but the desserts are unreal!”
At Waterford Place, residents like Dawn can live well and on their own terms, knowing caring support is always available if needed. “While living independently is vital to maintaining health and happiness, there may come a time when a little help with everyday activities can make a big difference in how much you or your loved one enjoys life,” says Josie.
